New Year, new Me??? Maybe…NAAAAAH. Not gonna happen.

Hey Plainfield Peeps,

It’s been a minute and I really thought this blog was dead. I was not motivated to keep doing this because I thought “who’s reading?” and :who cares?’

But I watched a video of the first Council meeting of 2023 and thought “Aw Hells NO!”

IN that audio I can clearly hear one Council person referring to the Council President as a Jackass. Ya’ll know who I’m talking about… yes, turns out woman hatin McKenna is also I’m beginning to suspect just plain racist!

Then he comes back to the next meeting and doubles down by saying he’s going to stop short of apologizing. WHAT!? why the hell are people still supporting this guy? I get it, he’s the savior for a certain area in the 2nd ward but if they’re really honest with themselves they’ll admit he ain’t done ish for the second ward. Can’t get nutten done because he doesn’t know how to get along with his council buddies. HE don’t deserve a seat at that table where decisions are made about our city. But some people would sell their A** for little or nothing so buddying up to this guy I guess doesn’t bother them. HE can be as F*ing rude as he wants to be and we’re jus gonna suck it? Damn PLainfield, I expected better of you. I know we let things slide sometimes but I thought we had more pride for our brothers and sisters Than that.

So yeh I crawled back out from under my rock because it IS election time and I do have some thoughts about McKenna and I guess that’s no surprise cause ya’ll know I ain’t liked this guy from day one and he aint; done a thing to change my mind. Just confirmed what I thought to begin with.

I thought about this a minute and and I said “self – it’s time to make a list” since this guy us running for his Council seat again I’m gonna make a list of all that this smug little man has accomplished for his ward in his four years on council. Then I said hell, it’s been four years so maybe the list is too long. Let’s name the top 3 things. So here I go.

TOP 3 THINGS MCKENNA HAS ACCOMPLISHED FOR THE 2ND WARD

1.Most NO votes ever recorded in a 4 year term

2.Managed to be unknown to 2nd ward residents who don’t live on the hill

3.Least amount of events attended by a councilperson in the entire history of PLainfield

That’s about all I could come up with, Maybe ya’ll can come up with a few more.I did hear that before he came on council though he did manage to get the YMCA sold so I guess he can vote YES for something.

The 2nd Ward deserves better! Imma try to say this without cussing (cause apparently that bothers some people and I guess my message can’t be received if I ain’t speaking the Queen’s English)

The 2nd Ward deserves a councilperson who reps EVERYBODY. HE ain’t got to agree with everything but he can show some respect it don’t take much to do that. I’m talking about a little class people… I’m talking about showing civility. (crazy idea I know – who the hell would want that, naH let’s just butt heads every council meeting and give my one vote and keep it moving) it’s crazy ish and if McKenna wins a another term its FOUR LONG YEARS OF THE SAME, butting heads and arguing and we the people sit by and suffer!!! but I guess some people love the drama.

I’m just gonna say this and go back into my bush, or under my rock whatever it is. Representation always matters so think hard about who is repping you.I heard someone use this word to describe him and it’s a perfect word – CONDESCENDING. that’s who’s repping the 2nd ward.

Ya’ll better stay woke. I see some comments on the buzz about taking PLainfield back to what it was… I was like WHOA! WTF? take it back to where? I don’t know bout ya’ll but I remember where Plainfield is coming from and it wasn’t pretty, so where we want to to take it back to? This awakens a lot of unpleasant thoughts in my head and that ain’t good. I also heard that a comment was made that “they” (not sure who that is but based on who made the comment I have some ideas) “they” will NEVER give up the 2nd ward seat. hmmmm. 2nd ward folks keep your eyes peeled and watch your back, not all neighbors are friends. That’s facts.

So it’s election eve. I guess most minds are already made up. But I said what I had to say and I feel better.

I’ll close with this…

Vote for McKenna if you agree with public abuse of women (especially black ones), public disrespect of elected officials, separation, no representation, turning PLainfield back, another 4 years of nothing for most of the folk in the 2nd ward.Thats what a vote for McKenna gets you.

If you’ve read all this, at least think about it. 4 years is a long time.

Greetings Queen City Confidential friends. It’s been a minute but tomorrow is election day and ya’ll know I have an opinion about that.

Happy to say I had the bad C word (covid) and survived. Gives life a new meaning! My tolerance was low before but now I really don’t have time for BS. Gonna call it as I see it.

Four candidates running for Mayor in the Queen City – that’s a lot of enthusiasm for a city that was so broken and ignored for many years. Mapp may be his own worst enemy. He did too good a job bringing the city forward and made it look too easy… now every Sean, Dick and Riddy think they can do the same!

I’m really LMAO at the buffoonery taking place ya’ll the Richard Wyatt camp let’s just call them the “Riddy Chicken Wings Posse” cause that’s what it takes to buy them. Don’t give a sh** about facts or truth and just straight make crap up. And of course there are the mindless sheep eating it all up and parroting what they say. I’m talking about Andre Kelly and Victor Webb – I’ve never seen more lies in an election than what’s coming out of their mouths on the Buzz. I guess they took notes from the Trump book and learnt well cause I haven’t seen a truth or fact yet that’s been able to stop them from recreating their own version of events. They been working 24/7 like it’s they day job. They musta been promised a real nice position in the Riddy administration – but guess what? it ain’t gonna happen. God don’t like ugly and they been real UGLY!

Not to mention Tim Priano, who needs to watch his mouth. He’s calling the Mayor and others all kinds of nasty names and he’s gonna say it to wrong person and it aint gonna go the way he thinks. That’s all I’m gonna say about that. These people are wilding. Ya’ll talk about the city this and that and ya’ll are the ones making Plainfield look bad with your ugly behavior.

Neither “Riddy” nor Sean are ready to be Mayor and I’m gonna tell you why. Neither one has a solid platform. every house they visit they’re telling people what Mapp ain’t done or ain’t doing right instead of saying what they’re gonna do… ask me how I know? I live in Plainfield – I got the knocks at my door and I listened cause that’s what you do when you want to learn. Ain’t not one of them can tell me how they plan to move the city forward… and I aint talking about apple pie in the sky like we need a recreation center and life-style like Westfield in our downtown – I’m simple but I’m not stupid – don’t tell me you’re the one who’s gonna make that happen because it aint that easy. and I could care less about 50 SUV’s so long as my taxes go down and home value keeps rising. results speak for themselves… get a clue.

So here’s the background on Mckenna and the Mayor for those who didn’t get the Tea. Mckenna came to my door in 2017 asking me to vote for Mapp… shortly after there was a race in the County for the Union County Chair position. Mckenna and his buddies got all bent out of shape because Mapp didn’t back their choice, Mayor of Fanwood Colleen Mahr – so they took their toys and went home (boohoo). Once again white people getting mad because a black man didn’t do their bidding. Still happening today ya’ll. smh. Better take note and Stay woke lest ya”ll find yourself back on the plantation.

I see Mckenna’s been accused of being racist and he said he can’t be because his partner is part black. Listen I ain’t saying nothing that’s not been spoken by his mouth on the worldwide web. what I am gonna say though is that I’ve watched his behavior at Council meetings and it’s a disgrace. He’s publicly attacked a few women who work for the city, he attacks the Mayor and other council members, his whole MO is misery and attack that’s all he’s got ya”ll. This guy has no idea how to work with others and will get ZERO done for the city. He will break down every good relationship we have now. Hey Mckenna here’s a tip for you – no one likes a know it all – do some management 101 and understand you ain’t gonna get anywhere if you can’t build consensus. Arrogance makes a poor Mayor not to mention you’re the candidate for “white Plainfield” who don’t give a sh** what happens in the streets of PLainfield muchless have a plan to fix it GTFOH – YOU CAN’T GET MY VOTE!

Richard “Riddy” Wyatt has been a city employee for 10 years, and a Board of Education member for 6 years. I ain’t got nothing personal against this guy but he’s a Campbell controlled minion. Been that at the BOE and will be that as Mayor. I got people who work for the BOE and they tell me – if you ain’t with them, your job is in jeopardy – that’s how they running it ya”ll like a damn mafia thug group. I also heard his wife who works for City Hall is already telling people what she’s gonna do when she becomes First Lady – yup. BTW his mother also wrks for city hall and several of his family members work for the BOE. I guess the rest of the family will follow soon after.

So Riddy is bringing his record of success at the BOE to City Hall? our school district is one of the WORST in the country, it’s disgraceful how they and the Campbells have failed our children. I don’t want to hear Sh** about who the hell is with who – they’ve had control and everybody knows it. Turning down scholarships from Bloomfield college because of their BIG STUPID EGO’s that’s what the hell they think about your children… and he wants to bring that to City Hall??? ya”ll are crazy for even entertaining this mess. Riddy – your record speaks for itself I have ZERO CONFIDENCE that you have what it takes to continue the turnaround that’s happening in Plainfield. You have a record of failure! I see big contracts like ya’ll hand out at the BOE to your cronies and I see the Campbells up in City Hall. we’ve come too far to turn back now – sorry bruh but YOU CAN’T GET MY VOTE EITHER!

Adrian Mapp is currently the Mayor and he’s up for re-election. Not perfect – but he’s shown he understands the business of running a city. I’ve lived here all my life and never saw anyone interested in putting money into this place. over a billion dollars they say, Mapp made that happen. lived here all my life and never saw a damn road paved, muchless the bunch that’s been done, Mapp made that happen. never saw a hold or reduction on taxes, Mapp made that happen, for two years during a pandemic no less! Never saw my home value so high… I’m saying – Mapp did that. 24 million in federal relief money that’s gonna be used to help seniors, help with taxes, employ people, help businesses, help renters. Mapp did that!

For those who just moved here and think you know what’s best for Plainfield, or those who live here and have short memories. Ya’ll must of forgotten what Plainfield was like before Mapp took office. Wasn’t a damn thing happening except new foreclosure signs every day and people sneaking out of town in the middle of the night. That’s right – happened with several on my block. Where was ya’ll then? When Plainfield really needed leaders and community activists? All the crew talking about Mapp ain’t from here but he’s been here longer than some ah ya”ll been alive. Where was the ideas and making it happen back then when no one wanted to touch Plainfield with a ten foot pole? Riddy was too busy doing nothing for our kids at the BOE and McKenna probably didn’t even live here then.

Mapp turned this city around, made it desirable to developers, crime down, roads paved, taxes cut, home values rising – this ain’t the same Plainfield that people used to drive around. Mapp did that. So to thank him you want to vote him out? that makes no damn sense – that crab in the barrel mentality is why we got nowhere for over 30-40 years. every black man is just for themself. smh. If we don’t learn now it ain’t never gonna happen. My vote for Adrian Mapp is purely selfish. He’s good for me and my investment in this city and that’s the bottom line. On June 8th I’m casting my VOTE FOR ADRIAN MAPP! COLUMN A – if you really care about Plainfield, you’ll do the same.

Wassup ya’ll. Yes it’s me again. So this blogging thing is harder than it looks. I had to leave it alone for a while, I had to deal with a lot of personal challenges including death and sickness. Then there were job challenges and I guess life in general. For a while I thought I was done. I was gonna be the person who does a few posts and then walk away. But, after dealing with COVID which brought more death to my doorstep and now the blatant murdering of black people out in public, and then witnessing some BS locally, I’ve discovered that I actually have more to say. At the end of the day – I love my town, I love living here and as long as I’m here I’ll probably have something to say – Sorry to disappoint ya’ll LOL.

My last go round I was told off by some people about my style of expressing myself… I’m gonna say this. I can sit here and be politically correct and use perfect grammar and no cuss words, but I’ve always been about real talk and this blog is no different. I’m not here to be pretty or fancy, if you don’t like how I express myself – just keep stepping, I will always be authentic and true to who I am. That being said, I will try, I said TRY to be a bit less “offensive” with my language – but sometimes I get worked up and then I just need to express what I’m feeling by any means necessary. If that offends you so much that you can’t read this and understand what I’m saying, then this isn’t for you and you should move along. Those who understand where I’m coming from will get it and understand.

So much is happening in the world right now, it’s crazy! theres a psycho in the White House who doesn’t have a CLUE and we’re struggling, struggling to get out of this pandemic. I’ve lost family members to COVID and it’s been really bad – and in the middle of this we’re hit with the inhumanity of a snuff film of a cop killing a black man. And we’re worked up, we’re pissed off and we want JUSTICE! but we have to think beyond that ya’ll. they want us to focus on this one thing, when in reality this is bigger than George Floyd, and Arbery and Taylor and Garner. This is 400, maybe 450 years of oppressions and begging for some equal treatment bubbling up from deep inside black people. Its bigger than painting “Black Lives Matter” across every street in America. It’s bigger than a few protests and rallies. Thats what they want us to do. Spend our anger. Spend our years of frustration. Spend the chance we have while the world is looking on a few trifling ass victories… HELL NO! There ain’t no place for racists in America. Generations have finally come together with one voice. Our young people are woke and this will be the moment that breaks it down. This is OUR America and don’t let no one tell you any different. We built this with our blood, sweat and tears and we BELONG here. Listen to me people, my people, my beautiful black people, this is the beginning of the end, but only if we keep our eye on the prize, and not get turned around with stupid agenda’s and distractions!

OK – got that out of the way (for now). So Plainfield here we are in another election cycle and the Campbells are back at it. In case you haven’t figured it out by now, they rub me the wrong way! what is amazing to me is how they manage to convince people who seem kinda normal to do their bidding. Whats the magic word ya’ll? It’s the same stupid crap as the last election. Distractions, smoke and mirrors. I have something to say about how the last election turned out but I’m gonna save that for the next edition. I just have to say that the candidates they came up with this time is pretty pathetic, I mean Emily Morgan ya’ll??? Really? The woman has been useless on the Board of Education so now we want to switch her over to the City Council where she’s supposed to miraculously do what? Oh yeah I get it, she ain’t supposed to do nothing except what the Campbells want her to do, so I guess that makes her the perfect candidate. We know she knows how to jump when they crack that whip! LMAO! I don’t want to beat up on a black woman so I’m gonna leave it at not every job is for every one and the City Council. – it ain’t for her! not if you genuinely want someone to represent you and your concerns.

Then we have David Rutherford. He also did his time at the Board of Education, as far as I know ineffectual and forgettable. What the hell Plainfield, we can’t do better than recycling these people? Rutherford talks a good talk, but it takes more than that to make the decisions we need to keep this town moving in the right direction. Where did his votes go to make our educational system better? We are FAILING our kids Plainfield. I’m here all day for Black people doing their thing but we gotta look at the WHOLE picture and make sensible choices. Why are we looking to swap out two sitting Council people Steve Hockaday and Charles McRae, who have done a good, solid job for two who never did anything significant while they were at the BOE? It makes no damn good sense. And if your reason is that they’re with the Mayor, then you’re trifling and you don’t care about Plainfield. I saw the endorsement that Rutherford proudly posted from that traitor turncoat Cornell West who talked the most sh*t about President Obama. Just a jealous, petty, old man trying to take down our first black President, yeah so here’s what I think about that endorsement – NADA! It’s as empty as the promises made by the person who posted it. LOL – Rutherford, is a puppet backed by McKenna and the Campbells – because they think he’ll be a good little mouthpiece. McKenna said it in his letter that came to my house. So far, Rutherford’s doing a damn good job of parroting everything they want him to say. Good boy, good boy – next we’ll teach you how to sit and roll over.

I read somewhere that a good blog post shouldn’t be too long so I’m gonna stop here for today. But Election Day is coming ya’ll and I’ve got more to say so stay tuned, stay woke and remember that BLACK LIVES MATTER! And PLAINFIELD VOTES MATTER!

I was told that my last post contained too much “vitriol” I guess ya’ll ain’t been by the Buzz around Plainfield because they may as well rename that page and call it “vitriol”. It is cluttered with Campbell propaganda BS and stupid cartoons, it’s a page right out of the Campbell playbook. If you ain’t got nothing to say, do some stupid crap to amuse the small minds. Then when you’re done doing that feed them with some greasy food to buy their votes. That alone is an insult. That bloodsucking family have never had a high opinion of Plainfield folk – they think we’re just some simple minded fools they can buy with buffoonery and fried chicken wings. If ya’ll ain’t got enough F-ing pride to reject them damn wings then you deserve what you get from them.

I can tell you that the friends an family I have who work for or connected to the schools are afraid to say anything against them because they’ve been threatened to lose their jobs. This family is no good rotten from the top right to the bottom. they want ya’ll to be mad at the Mayor because then maybe you won’t remember how they have sucked the lifeblood from our schools and failed our kids. Oh and this is while they sent their son to a fancy school over in Edison that cost more then damn college tuition. Yes that’s right little John Jr. was too good for the schools they were controlling and wrecking but its good enough for the stupid, fried food eating, simple minded folk. who will vote based on cartoon politics. I keep telling you if you don’t stay WOKE we gone be worse off than we’ve ever been in Plainfield history. And all their little puppets they let loose on that page will get their share of the chicken wings Vic Webb, Andre Kelly, David Marcus (aka Rutherford) – guess being in-laws with food truck man is really paying off LMAO! Thats how much they think of you!

I got that lying A*s piece of crap they sent out in the mail which I don’t have time to go into but an old tired dog can’t change his tricks and the campbells are some washed up -tired old republicans with the same tricks – Don’t fall for it PLEASE – its time to send them packing once and for all, OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS and out of PLAINFIELD POLITICS!

Now i’ve already said i’m not always a fan of what the Mayor does and some days i’m upset and pissed off over decisions coming out of city Hall. But just because he does one or two things I don’t agree with doesn’t mean he’s not doing a good job overall. There ain’t never gonna be a perfect mayor as far as i’m concerned they all got their issues but he’s proven that he’s got what it takes to bring some progress to Plainfield. Mayor after mayor after mayor have tried and failed. He made it happen in only five years so now every tom dick and harry think they can do it and do it better. Get the F outta here.

If I have a classic old car – that’s needs some renovating and I got 3 choices of mechanic. Mechanic number 1 says – Listen, I never worked on no classic cars before actually never been a mechanic just read a few books and think its easy enough to do cause i’m super smart – plus i got some banging ideas – so pick me because i’m not that guy over there and never mind that other YMCA car that got junked – that wasn’t my fault. Mechanic number 2 says – yeah i’ve worked on some cars F-ed them up good and proper – the last one is barely standing on its last legs – but I wouldn’t do that to your car! not at all and to prove it here are some chicken wings to show my sincerity. Mechanic number 3 says – I have a track record, i’ve done work on this classic car before and I’ve had some good results – it’s able to move now but needs a bit more work – I’ve tried a few things that didn’t work but overall i’ve had good results and i’m willing to keep going till we got it fixed. Now which would you choose?

We’ve got a beautiful classic town here and we just started seeing some progress after years of depression and now they want to change the guy who made it happen cause they want to sulk over a few things he did they didn’t agree with. (smdh) this is exactly why its taken over 30 years to see anything happen here. why the hell would anyone want to come spend their money or invest in a place with no damn stability – as soon as somebody tries to do something good here come the Gatdamn haters to pull them right back down. This sh*t really makes me angry. And then they wonder why we can’t be like a Westfield or a cranford – because ya’ll don’t know how to act- how to come together and stop letting people divide us!

So I guess what i’m trying to say is this. The Line A team is not perfect – who the hell is? but they got my vote tomorrow – because i want to see the progress in Plainfield keep going forward – because I don’t trust the lying Campbells as far as i can throw them and i’m bitter about our schools and what they’ve done to them and we can’t let them do that to our city – because McKenna ain’t ready either and closing down the YMCA is as bad as what the Campbells did to our schools – just don’t give a damn about the kids. and they both went out and got outside Mayors to muck about in Plainfield. We gotta send Fanwood and Linden back to where they belong -across the border!

Ya’ll need to get out and vote if you really care about Plainfield and yeah i’m gonna say it – its Line A that’s got the best plan.

I’m usually a sideline person when it comes to politics, but since I’ve got a blog – now is as good a time as any to jump in and share my opinions. I’ve heard a few things and if they’re true – I really think its just sheer and utter BS. I told you i’d call it like I see it and that’s what i’m doing.

First, (and this one really bothers me), I’ve heard that the Mayor of another town is in Plainfield acting as campaign manager to a set of folks that can’t make up their minds if they want to be republican or democratic. Yes I’m talking about the Campbell Clan – ruling Plainfield’s School Board for the past 15 years and running it into the ground! they are registered republicans and now they want to try and take over the democratic party by putting committee members in place – yes I’m slow some days but I’m not stupid. and they’ve brought in Derek Armstead a Mayor from Linden to run their campaign! if every resident of Queen City isn’t offended you better get WOKE. Any black man who would come in and undermine another black Mayor ain’t worth crap and anyone who signs on and supports this mess is a traitor to our city. That’s all there is to it.

Then there’s the other group – I’ve heard that the white mayor of Fanwood has joined forces with the sleepy hollow folk who wanted to secede from Plainfield at one time and start their own town. I know she’s never been past South Avenue but rumor has it that there are pics on facebook titled “The Mayor Mahr Team” with some so called Plainfielders grinning to high heaven. If you want to be on the Mahr team take your ass to Fanwood – we don’t need you in Plainfield and we don’t need her or any Uncle Tom telling us how to run our city. And all the little sheep are just running around like the sheep in animal farm – bleating and following everything that’s fed to them by these people.

Why is Fanwood and Linden in Plainfield? that’s my question and it’s the question every person in Queen City should be asking themselves. There was a time they wouldn’t give us the time of day and probably would never cross the border. Suddenly something good is happening and they all want to jump on the bandwagon. If we don’t stop this we’re gonna find ourselves being “BOSSED” – and that is exactly what some people want. They don’t want to see us succeed. And some of us are too busy bleating like sheep and following to pay attention.

I don’t love every decision that Mayor Mapp has made – some days I think he’s downright delusional, but he’s lived here a long time and he’s working for Plainfield – that’s what I see. I see a glimmer of hope for my city and he’s the first one to bring that in a long long time. So someone begins to do something right and now everybody thinks they can do better.

I’m seeing the dynamics here – and some of us are like crabs in a barrel and downright haters, just miserable and trying to pull other people down thinking that will make us rise. Some of you have short memories. It was only 5 years ago that NO ONE would touch Plainfield with a long stick muchless a short one – ZERO development, ZERO prospects. Now someone does something, gives us some hope and all the little “know it alls” think they can do it better. We don’t need LINDEN and we don’t need FANWOOD and to hell with the people who have brought them here. They never would have given us the time of day 5 years ago.

Plainfielders need to wake up and smell the roses – whatever they’re selling I’m not buying and i’m feeling like I need to head to Linden and see what’s happening over there. We need to help ourselves and try to come together. We just started seeing progress and we’re already falling apart at the seams (smh). That’s why we failed in the past, no unity.

This one really got me mad – but watch this space – I’m gathering intel about our council candidates and i’m going to do a rundown later this week. – QCC

I took a walk around town today and I have mixed emotions. I’ve been here a long time and some days its been downright depressing. When you wake up day after day and see the same thing – no progress, creeping unemployment, rising crime, while other towns around are moving and growing – After a while it beats you down. But over the last few years – I’ve seen some changes that make me think – maybe we have turned a corner. I’ve been feeling some hope but i’ve been disappointed before so i’m still just watching.

I’ve seen this Queen City from a few different angles. Lived in the West End and the East end, born in Muhlenberg – real sad to see it close. Went to school here, left for college, lived away for a while, and came back here, got married here, and now raising my kids here. (I have some strong thoughts about the state of our schools, but that’s for a future post). It’s been depressing for a long time.

There’s been a feeling sometimes of hopelessness when I looked around me. I’ve seen a lot of places that I grew up with, go out of business, and I’ve seen the faces around me change. I’ve seen less and less opportunities as far as employment goes.

I don’t believe that one person can save the world, or our city, but I see some good signs around town recently. I’m thinking this Mayor is beginning to make a difference. I don’t always agree with the decisions made down in City Hall, but I’ve seen far worse so i’m willing to take some of the bad for the good. The street I lived on as a child was paved for the first time I can ever remember – sometimes it’s the little things that count.
